Autonomous X12” from a chassis built exclusively by robots for the Nissan Motorsports race team. “Autonomous X12” is the third iteration of Georgopoulos’ series of automotive pieces embedded with or accompanied by film, each of which replicate the driving experience in real time. This dynamic piece takes the series a step further by kitting out the machine with videos that resemble those on the Google’s self-driving Project X vehicle. The film, a voyage down Sunset Boulevard from the East Side of Los Angeles to Santa Monica on the West, can be taken as a mundane passage the likes of which your car might take without you when the technology is capable of self-driving programmable errands Sheet metal, aluminum, glass, rubber, steel, plastic, aerospace composites, powder coating and electronic components with 60:00 minute single channel video 75 x 164 x 71.5 in (190.5 x 416.56 x 181.61 cm) James Georgopoulos 2016 Photo Courtesy of MAMA Gallery Los Angeles CA USA</image:caption>

      <image:title>Shadows - Exotic Super Flat (Copy)</image:title>
<image:caption>Exotic Super Flat James Georgopoulos has always been appreciative of automotive finishes and their malleability through sanding, painting, and polishing to create high gloss surfaces. Georgopoulos began to explore ways to deconstruct the car in a non-traditional visual form so the viewer could appreciate the massive size and power of a car but in the confines of an interior space. The result is a 1:1 scale flat panel homage to the automobile; made in the measurement specifications (length and width) of the manufacturer dimensions, giving the appearance of the car being flattened from above. Keeping true to the automotive industry, all frames and metal components on the works are made with aerospace aluminum and finished with the same traditional technology used on the world’s most revered super cars to achieve the ultimate mirror like reflective surface. The emblems and badges are all original OEM parts or made to OEM specs, either vintage or still in circulation for maximum authenticity. James Georgopoulos 2016</image:caption>

Made from a 1968 Ford F250 Custom Cab Camper Special. The automobile cab that was found 1 hour north of Las Vegas, was then strapped on the back of the artists pick-up truck and transported to the artist studio in Venice California. The video was shot with a GoPro Hero by his cinematographer brother, Dino Georgopoulos. These works often incorporate elements that symbolize AI's learning capabilities and strategic thinking. Key Features: Visuals: Use of color-shifting paints and polished metals to create dynamic, interactive pieces that change appearance based on the viewer's perspective and lighting conditions. Themes: Reflect on AI's ability to learn, adapt, and surpass human intelligence, highlighting both the marvels and potential dangers of such advancements. Visual Artist James Georgopoulos “Alpha” is an homage to the #google AlphaGo, the first computer to beat a professional player at the game Go (Lee Sedol). The self-learning machine continues to surpass human knowledge and is said to be the best Go player in history. The game of Go originated in China 3000 years ago. There are more possible positions in Go than there are atoms in the universe. The paint on the canvas is special vehicle team - light interference pigments (color-shifting paint) from Ford Motor Company and appears differently depending on angle and light. The metal checkerboard positioned slightly above the canvas is high polished steel, dipped into a gunmetal black chrome bath and finished with clear lacquer. The front mounted camera is made to make the viewer feel as if they’re being watched, their choices evaluated, as AI will further advance to learn about your habits and assist you. aluminum, metal, glass, copper, plastic, concrete, enamel, closed circuit live video 90 × 29 1/2 × 22 1/2 in (228.6 × 74.9 × 57.2 cm) James Georgopoulos 2016 Photo Courtesy of MAMA Gallery Los Angeles</image:caption>

<image:title>Zeus in MAMA Gallery DTLA - Zeus (Copy)</image:title>
<image:caption>"Zeus" This video sculpture by James Georgopoulos is a replication of a quantum computer (e.g. a D-Wave Systems computer) that loudly “beats” with a recording of the artists’ own heartbeat. The monolithic sculpture evokes Deep Blue, the IBM chess computer that beat Garry Kasparov in a 1996 match. There are two separate video works; on the left, thousands of images flash dramatically, on the right, a computer code spools out on the screen. The “all-seeing” Zeus becoming more and more powerful with the more human knowledge it gathers. James Georgopoulos 2016 Photo Courtesy of MAMA Gallery Los Angeles 1. "Zeus" (2016) Medium & Description: A monolithic structure composed of aluminum, steel, and advanced electronic components. "Zeus" features dual 16-minute video loops with pulsing sound, designed to evoke the rhythm of a human heartbeat. Themes: This piece critiques the evolving intelligence of AI systems and their integration into human life. It symbolizes the idea of a sentient machine, blurring the boundaries between organic life and synthetic intelligence. Significance: The heartbeat sound emphasizes the potential for AI to replicate human attributes, sparking questions about where humanity ends and artificial systems begin.</image:caption>
